The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has apprehended around 130 foreign nationals, primarily Chinese and Malaysians, on allegations of cybercrimes, hacking, and activities threatening Nigeria’s national security. The group, which includes 87 men and 26 women, was detained in Abuja’s Jahi area. Additionally, 17 Nigerians were also arrested in the same operation.
According to a statement from Force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the coordinated raid took place near the Next Cash and Carry area in Jahi, Abuja. Police reportedly found the suspects using computers and advanced equipment for criminal activities. The operation was led by Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 7, AIG Benneth Igweh, and involved officers from Zone 7 Command Abuja and the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
Authorities are currently analyzing the recovered evidence and have assured that the suspects will face court charges once the investigation concludes.
