Members of “21 Over 21,” a group credited with the second-term electoral victory of former Governor Willie Obiano in 2017, have restated their commitment to sustaining their political structure. The declaration came during the group’s end-of-year meeting held in Awka.
Addressing members, former Anambra State Commissioner for Transport and current Labour Party chieftain, Mr. Uche Okafor, urged the group to maintain its legacy of political success. He assured members of his continued support.
The State Coordinator of “21 Over 21,” Mr. Chinedu Mmadubonwu, explained that the group comprises councilors and other political figures instrumental in securing Governor Obiano’s re-election across all local government areas in 2017. He emphasized their readiness to replicate similar achievements through their network of allies while lamenting that some individuals have exploited the group’s name for personal gain.
Prince Chukwudi Ugochukwu, Chairman of the group’s Board of Trustees and a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), clarified that “21 Over 21” is not currently affiliated with any political party.
The meeting highlighted the group’s resolve to remain a significant force in Anambra’s political landscape.
