The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Hussaini Salihu, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. According to a statement released on Thursday evening by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday, July 24.
Salihu is accused of luring the minor into his house, sexually assaulting her, and then giving her N2,000. The victim’s identity has been withheld due to her age.
The suspect attempted to flee when he realized he would be held accountable for his actions. However, he was tracked down and arrested following a report by the victim’s mother.
The police statement revealed that Salihu has confessed to the crime and will be charged in court.
