The Special Marshals in Awka units, an arm of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, conducted an enlightening campaign for the drivers of Star Sunny Motors and other road users on the importance of adhering to road signs.
The sensitization event took place at the Star Sunny Park at Arroma Junction, Awka.
Addressing the participants, Mr. Charles Iyiegbuniwe, Assistant Route Commander of the FRSC Anambra State Sector Command, emphasized that the campaign aimed to familiarize road users with road signs and warnings to prevent accidents.
Mr. Iyiegbuniwe urged motorists to consistently exhibit good road behavior and adhere to safety measures to ensure the roads remain safe for everyone.
Earlier, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze, a member of the team and the immediate past Director of News and Current Affairs Department of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, educated participants on the meanings and applications of various road signs and warnings. Drivers who correctly interpreted the displayed road signs were rewarded with cash prizes.
Mr. Ikem Asika, another team member, highlighted the importance of being safety-conscious and reminded participants of the legal penalties for violating road safety regulations.
In his vote of thanks, Mr. Gideon Oguike, Manager of Star Sunny Motors, praised the exercise as highly educational and interactive. He noted that the participants gained valuable knowledge about road signs and assured that they would apply what they learned in practice.
During the event, several Special Marshals, including Mrs. Judy Jeff-Nwabueze, Acting Director of News and Current Affairs Department of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, were seen managing traffic at Arroma Junction to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
