The Police Service Commission (PSC) has clarified that it has not canceled, nor does it plan to cancel, the list of successful candidates for recruitment into the Constables cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.
Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations for the PSC, made this statement on Tuesday in Abuja, addressing rumors circulating on social media that claimed the PSC had succumbed to pressure and voided the final list of successful candidates.
“The statement did not emanate from PSC, and we urge the public to disregard it,” Ani stated. He emphasized that the recruitment process adhered strictly to relevant guidelines and legal provisions.
Ani noted that the PSC had recently completed routine maintenance on its recruitment portal, which briefly took it offline. However, the portal is now fully functional and contains the original list of successful candidates.
“The commission is in control of the situation and has restored the recruitment portal with its original contents,” Ani assured. “Successful candidates are advised to ignore the deliberate antics of desperate groups bent on destroying the good work of the commission.”
He reaffirmed the PSC’s commitment to a merit-based and inclusive recruitment process, ensuring federal character, gender sensitivity, and merit are prioritized.
Ani also warned those behind the false statements to stop undermining the recruitment exercise, adding that anyone caught spreading such misinformation would face consequences.
“The portal is now fully functional and accessible. Candidates can log in and access all its features without any disruptions,” Ani concluded.
