In response to the growing healthcare needs of the elderly, the Christabel Okoye Foundation recently conducted its annual medical outreach, providing essential medical services to elderly men and women.
The event took place at the Civic Hall in Urumkpu Umuoji, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, aiming to alleviate the financial burdens of healthcare expenses for the elderly, ensuring they receive necessary medical attention free of charge.
Dr. Mrs. Christabel Okoye, founder of the Christabel Okoye Foundation and Executive National Secretary of the National Association of Nigeria Drugs Monitoring (NANDROM), highlighted the importance of offering free medical care to address healthcare challenges and enhance the welfare of the elderly. She expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success.
During the outreach, facilitators Mr. David Chukwujekwu and Mrs. Ifeyinwa Okoye advised participants against self-medication, urging them to consult doctors before taking any medication. They also emphasized following the prescribed directions for the free medicine provided and encouraged healthy eating habits.
In separate interviews with ABS News, beneficiaries Mrs. Francisca Nwadika and Mr. Alfred Okoye expressed their gratitude and excitement, thanking the foundation for its consistent support despite the challenging economic conditions in the country. They also prayed for the foundation’s continued success and prosperity.
