Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state. The announcement was made on Saturday during the grand finale of the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival.
Governor Nwifuru stated that the new minimum wage will be implemented starting in September, with relevant government authorities tasked with drafting the payment modalities.
In addition to the wage announcement, the governor expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of government projects, particularly the housing estates in Izo autonomous community, Ishielu Local Government Area. He instructed the Commissioner for Housing to expedite the completion of these projects, emphasizing the importance of timely delivery.
The governor also urged residents to report any delays in government projects, reinforcing his commitment to accountability and efficient governance in Ebonyi State.
