The newly appointed Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Mr. Christopher Molokwu, has pledged to transform the organization into a world-class media entity capable of competing on a global scale. Mr. Molokwu made this statement during the handover ceremony held at the ABS Corporate Headquarters in Awka, where he received the official handover note from his predecessor, Sir Chido Obidiegwu.
Assuming duty just days after his appointment by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Molokwu expressed gratitude to Sir Chido for his leadership and accomplishments during his tenure. He emphasized his commitment to building on these successes, stating his confidence in the wealth of talent within ABS and assuring a swift repositioning of the station.
Mr. Molokwu also noted that he would adopt an open-door policy and encourage partnerships to align with Governor Soludo’s vision for the organization.
In his farewell speech, Sir Chido thanked Governor Soludo for the opportunity to serve Ndi Anambra and recognized the unwavering support from ABS management, staff, and the administration. He expressed confidence in Mr. Molokwu’s ability to inject fresh energy and modernize the station.
Barrister Juliet Amasiatu, Director of Legal Services at ABS, in her vote of thanks, remarked on the mixed emotions within the station, bidding farewell to Sir Chido while welcoming Mr. Molokwu. She assured the new Managing Director of the full backing of ABS staff and management.
