The local government elections in Anambra State, scheduled for September 28, are confirmed as a top priority by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
During a meeting with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka, Governor Soludo reiterated the importance of the upcoming polls. The meeting was also attended by local government chairmen, party leaders, and members of the state executive council.
Governor Soludo, the National Leader of APGA, praised the party’s efforts in preparing for the election. He announced that movement would be restricted on election day and urged Anambra residents to turn out and cast their votes. He also commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) and the State House of Assembly for prioritizing the people’s interests.
Soludo encouraged the candidates to demonstrate their commitment to the state’s development, while clarifying that there are no factions within APGA, confirming Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman.
APGA’s State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence under Soludo’s leadership, assuring supporters of a strong performance in the election.
Key government officials, including Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, were also in attendance.
