Ahead of the upcoming local government elections, scheduled for September 28th, 2024, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba, the representative of Anambra West Constituency at the State House of Assembly, has met with All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates in the region. The meeting, held at Umueze Anam Town Hall, gathered APGA Principal Officers from the ten wards in Anambra West, including Councillorship and Chairmanship candidates.
During the meeting, Hon. Udoba congratulated the candidates for their emergence as APGA flag bearers and encouraged them to remain resolute in their commitment to service and the development of the local council area. He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization, urging candidates to reach out to every polling unit and political ward, emphasizing that APGA is determined to secure a landslide victory.
The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, also addressed the candidates, advising them to maintain a strong working relationship between councillors and the Chairman when elected. He further encouraged them to promote peace and unity within their communities.
Mr. Romanus Egwuatu, APGA Chairman in Anambra West, expressed gratitude for the timely meeting and prayed for the success of the election. Representing the Chairmanship candidate, Mr. Fidelis Nnazor, his running mate, Mrs. Nkiru Ndife, stated that a vote for their team is a vote for the continuation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda.
The event was attended by several notable stakeholders, including former Transition Committee Chairman, Mr. Sylvester Okafor, APGA National Assistant Publicity Secretary, Chief Ojukwu Obakasi, and former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Anambra West, Mr. Mike Ifeatu, among others.
