Rangers and Enyimba emerged victorious in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches on Wednesday.
Rangers secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 triumph over Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. Captain Chinemerem Ugwueze scored the decisive goal in the 25th minute, separating both teams. Ikorodu City, however, continues to struggle with only one point from three games.
In Aba, defending champions Enyimba defeated Lobi Stars 2-1. Chinedu Ufere opened the scoring for Enyimba in the 13th minute, followed by a penalty converted by Eze Ekwutoziem just three minutes later. Lobi Stars’ Waheeb Adebayo pulled one back nine minutes before halftime, but the Makurdi side couldn’t find an equalizer.
Both victories are crucial as the NPFL season progresses.
