The Anambra State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling obligations for counterpart-funded projects with its partners. This was emphasized by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, during the opening session of a two-day partnership coordination and review meeting in Awka.
The meeting, organized by the ministry, aimed to review achievements, challenges, and lessons learned from various program interventions. Participants included representatives from ministries, departments, agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the media.
Mrs. Nnake highlighted the importance of understanding the roles of all partners operating in the state to streamline project implementation and avoid duplication. She stressed that effective coordination would allow the government to allocate limited resources to projects that have the most impact on the people.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Nwabachili, noted that the review meeting would enhance collaborative efforts by identifying challenges and opportunities in different areas of intervention.
Mrs. Obiananma Orji, Head of the Partnership Coordination Department, expressed optimism that the meeting would improve project implementation across the state.
Dr. JohnPaul Onyekaineso, Zonal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for ATASP-1, spoke about their focus on boosting agricultural productivity, income generation, and food security through infrastructure development and program management interventions.
Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Agriculture, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Uzoka, and Women Affairs, Mrs. Chinwe Achukwu.
