Other notable names on the list include Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Simon Adingra (Côte d’Ivoire, Brighton), Ronwen Williams (South Africa, Orlando Pirates), and Serhou Guirassy (Guinea, Borussia Dortmund/Frankfurt). The list also features Amine Gouiri (Algeria, Rennes), Chancel Mbemba (Congo, Marseille), and Soufiane Brahimi (Morocco, Real Madrid).
Surprisingly, some high-profile players were left out, including Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool), Victor Boniface (Nigeria, Bayer Leverkusen), Nicolas Jackson (Senegal, Chelsea), Mohammed Kudus (Ghana, West Ham), and Brahim Diaz (Morocco, Real Madrid).
The final winner of the CAF Player of the Year award will be determined in a ceremony scheduled later this year.
