Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has been named Media Man of the Year 2024 at the Anambra Media Excellence Awards (AMEA), which took place at its sixth annual ceremony in Awka.
The award was presented by Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi, Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (South East Council), who commended Aburime for his significant contributions to the growth of the journalism profession. Ifesinachi also highlighted the transformative achievements of Governor Soludo’s administration across Anambra State and praised Aburime’s role in effectively communicating these developments to the public. He expressed confidence that the governor’s leadership would continue to yield further progress for the people of Anambra.
The award was accepted on Aburime’s behalf by Mr. Ejike Abana, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media. In his speech, Aburime thanked the group for recognizing the administration’s strides and reaffirmed his dedication to supporting Governor Soludo’s vision for a prosperous and sustainable Anambra.
Aburime also dedicated the award to Governor Soludo and the people of Anambra, acknowledging their unwavering support. He emphasized that the recognition serves as motivation to achieve more milestones in the governor’s roadmap for a smart megacity. Aburime underscored the crucial role of journalists in shaping society, stressing that their work in information dissemination is integral to societal progress.
The event, which brought together key government figures and prominent media practitioners, was led by Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili Udokamma, National President of the Association of Digital Media Core Advocacy (ADMCA). It celebrated the excellence and dedication of the state’s journalism professionals.
