The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has called on contractors to expedite the dualization of the Nnewi-Ozubulu-Okija road while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
The Committee Chairman and representative of Orumba South Constituency, Engineer Emma Nwafor, made the appeal during an inspection tour of the 16.6-kilometer dual carriageway, a key project being undertaken by the Anambra State government.
Engineer Nwafor noted that progress on the project was satisfactory, with materials and sections inspected meeting the specifications outlined in the construction plans.
Honourable Augustine Ike, the member representing Nnewi North Constituency, echoed these sentiments, commending the quality and pace of work. He urged the contractors to maintain high standards and avoid any substandard practices.
Responding, Engineer Ola Kings, a representative of the construction company, assured the committee of the project’s timely delivery and compliance with set standards, emphasizing its importance for the state’s residents.
The inspection tour is part of the committee’s oversight duties to ensure accountability and progress in critical infrastructure projects.
