The Anambra State Government’s ultra-modern trauma center at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka, is nearing completion, signaling a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure in the state.
Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Pauly Onyeka, alongside engineers from the ministry, conducted an inspection of the facility and expressed satisfaction with the quality, pace, and progress of work.
During the visit, the team also assessed other ongoing projects at the hospital, including the construction of an ultra-modern gate and security house, as well as renovations of the emergency building and other facilities.
Addressing journalists after the inspection, Honourable Onyeka praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for delivering on his promises, stating, “No other state has active construction sites as widespread as Anambra.”
Engineer Emmanuel Nnaji, Project Manager for TRI Resources Construction Company, assured that the trauma center would be completed ahead of schedule, with a planned handover date in February 2025.
The trauma center is expected to enhance emergency healthcare services in the state and cater to the increasing demand for specialized medical care.
