Secondary school teachers and non-teaching staff in Anambra State have expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for approving their 2023 and 2024 promotional examinations.
Speaking at the examination venue, the Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC), Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, acknowledged the Governor’s support, noting that the release of funds facilitated the long-awaited promotions. She announced that promotional exams would now be conducted through Computer-Based Testing (CBT), reflecting the state’s commitment to digital transformation.
Professor Ikediugwu urged teachers to embrace ICT, emphasizing its importance in modern education. She reminded participants to uphold integrity during the examinations, stressing their role as role models for students.
She also informed the teachers that their final promotion scores would be based on multiple criteria, including exam results, attendance, supervision, and Annual Performance Evaluation Report (APER) scores.
The successful completion of the promotional exercise marks the clearance of promotion arrears for PPSSC staff, further solidifying the government’s dedication to the welfare of educators in the state.
