Ukrainian boxing star Oleksandr Usyk triumphed in his heavyweight championship rematch against Tyson Fury on Saturday, securing a unanimous decision victory to maintain his undefeated record across two weight divisions.
The judges scored the fight 116-112 in favor of Usyk, whose precise left hooks and relentless pace proved too much for Fury. With the win, Usyk improved his professional record to 23-0, including 14 knockouts, solidifying his reputation as one of the greatest boxers in history.
Usyk’s illustrious career includes Olympic gold and an undisputed championship at cruiserweight. His victory against Fury extends his legacy as a dominant force in the heavyweight division. Despite relinquishing his IBF title to focus on the rematch, Usyk retained the WBA, WBO, and WBC belts, cementing his place in boxing history.
Earlier this year, Usyk joined the ranks of legends such as Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, and Mike Tyson by becoming an undisputed heavyweight champion—the first in the four-belt era.
The defeat leaves Tyson Fury with a record of 34-2-1 and raises questions about his future in boxing. The 36-year-old previously announced his retirement in 2022 but returned to the ring later that year.
