The former Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for initiating the construction of a new government house and governor’s lodge in Awka, alongside other transformative infrastructure projects in Anambra State.
Chief Anyaoku gave his commendation during a tour of the project site and the Solution Fun City, describing the developments as impressive and visionary. He noted that the synchronization of the three arms of government in one area demonstrates forward-thinking leadership. According to him, the durability and strategic planning evident in the projects will serve the state for generations.
In response, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude for Chief Anyaoku’s visit and recognition. The governor highlighted the significance of the projects, revealing that the state is on the verge of breaking a 33-year-old jinx of lacking a befitting government house and governor’s lodge. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building infrastructure that will stand the test of time.
Additionally, Chief Anyaoku inspected the ongoing upgrade of the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, which is nearing completion. He lauded the progress made, emphasizing the importance of such projects in boosting Anambra State’s development.
Governor Soludo hailed Chief Anyaoku as Africa’s most distinguished statesman and thanked him for taking the time to assess the initiatives, underscoring the administration’s focus on transformative and enduring progress.
