In a groundbreaking event at Eziagu village, Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, five brothers from the same family have simultaneously joined the prestigious Nze na Ozo Society.
The brothers, sons of the late Mr. Vitus Uzoegbo, each received unique Ozo titles: Chief Simeon Uzoegbo (“Eze Ebele Chukwumele”), Chief Ndubuisi Uzoegbo (“Eze Ife Amarume”), Chief Anayo Uzoegbo (“Eze Obi Adi Nbuha”), Chief Ebuka Uzoegbo (“Ezenwoha”), and Chief Chekwube Uzoegbo (“Eze Chinechendo 1 N’Aguluezechukwu”).
During the title conferment ceremony, Chief Clement Ofor, head of the Eziagu Aguluezechukwu Nze na Ozo Society, described the group as the apex society in Igbo culture, dedicated to fostering sanity and integrity in Igbo land. He urged the newly inducted members to uphold the society’s rules, warning that their titles could be revoked if they acted otherwise.
The celebrants expressed their motivation for joining the society as a commitment to preserving the culture and traditions of their town. They also emphasized their desire to use the platform to contribute meaningfully to their community and the Igbo society at large.
Dignitaries, including Hon. Abebe Izundu, the Councilor representing Aguluezechukwu Ward and Chief Whip of Aguata Legislative Council, praised the brothers for embracing the prestigious Ozo title. He highlighted the importance of such decisions in promoting Igbo culture and tradition.
