The Anambra state government through the ministry of Power and Water Resources in line with its policy of taking power to the unserved and underserved communities in the state is undertaking the resuscitation and upgrade of 7.5MVA substation that will serve the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, Igbariam campus when completed.
Commissioner for Power and Water Resources in the state, Engr Julius Chukwuemeka who inspected the resuscitation and upgrading activities at the abandoned 7.5MVA Injection substation informed that the state government was undertaking the installation in order to take power to the underserved university community and its environs.
Engineer Chukwuemeka pointed out that the policy of the Soludo led Anambra state government of taking power to the people who hitherto were unserved or underserved was being strictly followed to the later expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the site. He noted that Governor Soludo was determined to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning in the University and added that Awka and Uli campuses of the University are equally receiving necessary attention.
The Commissioner further informed that the injection substation when completed, would end the aged long era of lack of public power supply in the campus and its environs.
