The State Executive Committee of the Solution Vanguard and Local Government executives have been inaugurated by the Anambra State Unified Local Government Workers at the Local Government Service Commission, Awka.
The inauguration was marked by praises for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who was described as a leader working tirelessly for the good of the people.
Speaking at the unveiling of car and bus stickers produced by the group, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, highlighted that Governor Soludo inherited a backlog of pension and gratuity payments dating back to 2014 but has cleared up to 2019 and continues paying those due under his administration. He commended the workers for identifying with the government.
Inaugurating the State Executive Committee, the Anambra State Chairman of APGA, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, represented by his deputy, Prince Paul Uzor, prayed for the fulfillment of the workers’ aspirations and the Governor’s success in the November 8 gubernatorial election.
The convener and Chairman of the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Barrister Vin-Ifeanyi Ezeaka, noted that the group was initiated and sponsored by workers who are not party members, showing their readiness to support the Governor’s second-term bid. He announced that every Thursday would henceforth be observed as Solution Vanguard Day, with members wearing customised T-shirts.
The event featured solidarity dances from the 21 local government areas in support of Governor Soludo’s second tenure.
