Members of Oyi Elders Consultative forum have been urged to priotize regular exercise, proper dieting and checkups for healthy life. Dr Nnacho Aaron, a medical consultant with University on the Niger Teaching Hospital, Iyienu, gave the charge while delivering health talk to the members of the group earlier today at Chief Samuel Ikefuna residence in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra state.
The medical doctor informed that the rate of cardiac arrest leading to death was on the increase due to a lot of things like BP, high cholesterol and others and called on the participants to be paying close attention to their health.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Caretaker Chairman of the group, Chief Chidiebele Obika detailed the formation of the organization with Dr. Chike Obidiogbo as the group’s Patron while Chief Samuel Ikefuna is the BoT Chairman. He said the organization was registered with the CAC and aims at enhancing development of the area and advising or guiding elected officials towards the path that would be benefitial to all.
Obika while saying that the forum membership cut across all political parties in the LGA called on ndi Oyi to join the forum for the benefit of everyone.
In his words of encouragement, Elder Dr Chike Obidigbo (Osisioma Igbo) commended the executive committee and BoT for remaining steadfast and keeping the forum active and appreciated the members for attending the meeting.
Dr Obidigbo used the opportunity to appeal to members to be committed and invest their time and other resources in the progress of the forum and the council area.
The meeting appreciated Ide Samuel Ikefuna for hosting the days meeting, the Mayor of Oyi LGA, Hon. Emmanuel Nweke and Anambra state House of Assembly member representing Oyi State Constituency, Hon. Sir Innocent Ojike for their generous donations to the forum.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Anthony Isiuzo, Ichie BU Chinweze Ichie Benedict Okoye Arthur, Lady Amaka Awadiegwu, Sir Okechukwu Onwurah, Sir Stephen Nweke, Mrs Juliana Ibefuna, Adol Onyike, Major Mike Ekwensi, Engr Anthony Aniebue and Chief Chuma Mozie.
Others were Hon. Dr Benji Obidigbo, Mrs Chukwurah Abunyieudo, Hon. Amaechi Chinweze, Ichie CC Aniegboka, Ichie Francis Okafor, Chief Tony Anachunam, Hon. Chinedu Udeagwu among others.
