… As Umahi Commends Soludo’s Sterling Performance

The president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier today at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra state flagged off the construction of 17.5km X 2 dual carriageway linking the newly constructed second Niger bridge to the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway Phase 2B with contract no 8793.
President Tinubu who was represented at the occasion by the Governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo called on the local communities to support the company handling for the smooth delivery of the project.
He pointed out that the federal government had approved and released the first 30% to CGC Nigeria Ltd, the firm managing the project and that the project will begin immediately.
Sen. Engr David Umahi, the Minister of Works while detailing the specifics of the project commended the governor of Anambra state for his numerous infrastructural projects.
He particularly praised Governor Soludo for building a modern government house and lodge for the state and recalled his ugly experience the last time he visited the government house when Peter Obi was the governor and swore never to visit the government house again. He commended the governor and said that he alongside others would be learning governance from him.
Minister Umahi pointed out that the project will have other things like solar powered streetlights, cctv cameras and built with concrete.
” The Enugu to Abakaliki dualization is ongoing, Enugu – Onitsha Expressway is ongoing. Onitsha – Owerri has been approved. I’ve called the perm sec, director of highways and Anambra state works commissioner to come so that we review all abandoned federal road projects in South East and know why they were abandoned”.
” All we owe the president is to pray for him. Support him and me. I thank ndi Igbo that during the last protest, we did not participate in it and I thank you.”
Continuing Sen. Umahi said, ” I’m happy to be among you. Please, continue supporting our governor, Prof soludo because he’s doing marvelously well. We must support someone who is doing very well. Keep supporting President Tinubu because he is working and the more we support him, the more he will work for us.”
On their separate parts, the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Iweka, Ezeiweke III and President General of Ogbunike Community, Chief Samuel Obiakor thanked the president for awarding the project, the governor for his numerous infrastructural works in the state and facilitation of the project and Minister Umahi for being a true son of the soil and attracting worthwhile projects to South East and Anambra in particular.
They pledged to support the company in any way possible for smooth delivery of the project.
Earlier, the GM Southeast Section of CGC Nigeria Ltd, Mr Carlos Cheng stated that the project was not only a significant milestone for their company but also a testament to stong coorportion between their team and government
He thanked the governor for his role in the project and pledged to deliver quality job in accordance with international standards.
Barr Chioma Nweze, SSA to President Tinubu on Community Engagement, Hon. Lady Maureen Gwacham member representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, Hon. Engr Dom Okafor, Memeber representing Aguata Federal Constituency, Deputy Speaker of Anambra state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chuma Okoye attended the event.
