In a significant political move, Architect Chukwuka Okonkwo, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) hailing from Aguluezechukwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, has officially announced his defection to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Surrounded by jubilant APGA members and key stakeholders at his Aguluezechukwu residence, Architect Okonkwo cited the transformative governance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo as the driving force behind his decision to switch parties.
Emphasizing Governor Soludo’s commendable track record in reshaping the socioeconomic landscape of Anambra State, Architect Okonkwo expressed his commitment to replicate his previous electoral success, vowing to deliver Aguluezechukwu Ward for APGA, just as he did for the APC in the last gubernatorial election.
Addressing the gathering, the APGA Ward Chairman in Aguluezechukwu, Mr. John-Kennedy Okeke, extolled the virtues of APGA as the premier political platform in Nigeria, extending a warm reception to Architect Okonkwo.
Mr. Okeke assured of seamless collaboration with the new party entrant to amplify Governor Soludo’s impactful initiatives across the state.
Echoing this sentiment, prominent APGA stakeholder in Aguluezechukwu, Mr. Izuchukwu Daniel, hailed Chief Okonkwo as a grassroots mobilizer poised to propel the party to greater heights, pledging unwavering support for his endeavors within APGA.
In a gesture of goodwill, Chief Okonkwo pledged to cover one year’s office rent for the party, acknowledging the need for a dedicated party headquarters.
The event culminated in Chief Okonkwo’s symbolic adornment with APGA regalia and the official issuance of the party membership card, marking a pivotal moment in his political journey within Anambra State.
