The elders, ndi Ojiana, village executive committee, women and youths of Abube Uno village, Nando community, Anambra East Local Government Area earlier today converged on their village sqaure where they praised the governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for helping them root out land grabbers from their community land.
Chief Sebatian Emenike, the Vice Chairman of Abube Uno Village, Nando stated how happy they were when Governor Soludo through his security committee came to their rescue and rooted out land grabbers from their community land.
Said he, “we are happy for what Governor Soludo did for us. So, we gathered here today to thank him and appreciate him. He told us to go back to our farm and we went back to farm.”
” We went to so many places; we went to Police, DSS and others. We didn’t know that Governor will have our time. Government came and chased away the land grabbers. We appreciate him for this”, Chief Emenike said.
Chief Amobi Nzedigwe, Onowu Nando while speaking on behalf of the Elders of Abube uno thanked the Governor for helping them. ” We thank the good governor that God gifted ndi Anambra. We appreciate him for all the good things he’s doing for us especially the intervention against land grabbers who came and chased our people out and sold the land. He helped us to recover our land.”
Continuing, Onowu said, “That’s where our people farm; both married and unmarried. That’s where they went to sell in secret. We thank the Soludo security committee and the good people of Anambra state for everything.”
On his part, Chief Ajanma Nwadili narrated how the land grabbers were using thugs to threaten and beat their people up.
He said, ” A particular set of people came to take over our community land by force. Whenever they come there, they always mobilize over 300 tbugs bearing marchets and guns against our people which forced our people to stop going to farm. But we ran to Anambra state government and they came to our rescue after investigation.”
” Anambra state government came with trucks load of security personnel and chased them away. Soludo told our people to go and take back our land, and we did that and farmed on the land.
The community in appreciation gifted the governor bags of garri, bunches of plaitain among others.
