Hudson Meek, a rising actor known for his role in the 2017 film *Baby Driver* and the preschool series *Badanamu Stories*, has died at the age of 16 following a tragic vehicle accident in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Meek fell from a moving car on the evening of December 19. He sustained severe blunt force injuries and was rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where he passed away two days later.
The Vestavia Hills Police Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
### A Promising Young Talent
Hudson Meek’s acting career began early, with his portrayal of a young version of Ansel Elgort’s character in *Baby Driver*. He also appeared in shows like the CW’s *Legacies*, Hulu’s *Genius*, and NBC’s *Found*. Despite his untimely death, several of his projects are slated for release in 2025.
“Hudson loved spending time on set and getting to know everyone, from cast members to crew,” his family shared in a statement on Instagram. “He brought joy and light to everyone he met.”
### A Life Well-Lived
In addition to his acting career, Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, where he played football and participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, honor choir, and other extracurricular activities. He was passionate about sports, nature, and adventure, having visited all 50 U.S. states and pursued scuba diving certifications by the age of 13.
“Hudson was reflective, thoughtful, and tenacious,” his obituary reads. “He lived life to the fullest, embracing challenges and bringing laughter wherever he went.”

Meek was an organ donor, and his family finds solace in knowing he will continue to help others even in death.
Hudson is survived by his parents, Derek and Lani Meek, his older brother Tucker, grandmothers, and extended family. His death marks a profound loss for his family, friends, and the entertainment community.
