In today’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Cameroon, and Mauritania all emerged victorious.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated the Republic of Benin 3-0, thanks to a brace from Ademola Lookman and a goal from Victor Osimhen, who came on as a substitute. This win places Nigeria at the top of Group D with three points from their first match.

In a tightly contested game at Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Cameroon edged out Namibia 1-0. Vincent Aboubakar scored the only goal of the match in the second half, securing a hard-fought victory for the Indomitable Lions.

Mauritania also enjoyed success, winning 1-0 against Botswana in Nouakchott. Sidi Amar’s goal in the 84th minute proved decisive, giving Mauritania a crucial start to their qualifying campaign despite a challenging game against a resolute Botswana defense.
