Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the employment of 1,000 secondary school teachers in the state.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Monday said the approval followed the completion of the recruitment process by the Teaching Service Commission.
The recruitment exercise, which began last year, screened thousands of applicants, with successful candidates set to commence documentation immediately.
The governor is also finalizing the employment of 1,000 primary school teachers to address staff shortages in public schools, especially in rural areas.
The statement said the recruitment was based on the needs of understaffed schools across the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa recently approved N633 million for the registration of students for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and the upgrade of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, to the University of Agriculture and Agribusiness, Owo.
