Amichi Diocese Women’s Conference Concludes with Call to Reject Idolatry

The 16th Women’s Conference of the Amichi Diocese concluded with a strong call to abandon idolatry. Rt. Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Amichi, emphasized the importance of staying focused on spiritual goals to avoid missing out on heaven.

Bishop Ikeakor, speaking at a special service at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Unubi, Nnewi South Local Government Area, warned against the allure of miracles without understanding their origins. He expressed concern over the prevalence of idolatry and other abominations within the church, particularly among women. The Bishop urged attendees to pursue righteousness, turn to Jesus, and lay hold of eternal life to flee from idolatry.

Dr. Martha Ibezim, wife of the Archbishop of the Province of the Niger, praised the Amichi Diocese’s unique contributions, highlighting the valuable lessons learned at each annual conference. She encouraged women to reject idolatry to avoid its severe consequences.

Dame Nkem Ikeakor, President of the Women Ministry of the Diocese, acknowledged the contributions of all attendees, including the Archbishop and Bishops’ wives from various dioceses. She listed numerous achievements of the women’s ministry and urged delegates to spread the conference’s message across their communities.

Mr. Augustine Ibeh, Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, expressed gratitude for the conference’s success, describing it as a blessing to the church and the Unubi town.

The conference concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, special thanksgiving by the women, and moments of praise and worship.
