The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing road construction projects between Igboukwu and Ekwulummili, as well as the Azigbo-Awka Etiti-Amichi route.
The inspection was led by the Chairman of the Committee and member representing Orumba South Constituency, Engr. Emma Nwafor. He stated that the road projects are part of the state government’s broader plan to enhance infrastructure and improve connectivity in both rural and urban parts of the state.
Engr. Nwafor explained that the Igboukwu-Ekwulummili road measures about 3.5 kilometers, while the Azigbo-Awka Etiti-Amichi road covers 4 kilometers. He commended the quality of materials being used and encouraged the contractors to sustain the pace of work and deliver the projects within the agreed timeline.
Hon. Nonso Atuchukwu, representing Nnewi South Constituency One, described the roads as vital to his constituents and the state at large. He appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for prioritizing infrastructure in rural communities.
One of the contractors, Engr. Augustine Nwafor, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support and assured the committee of timely and quality delivery in line with project specifications.
