The Anambra State House of Assembly’s Committee on Public Accounts has expressed satisfaction with the financial verification of the Governor’s Office for the year ending December 31, 2023.
Led by Honourable Noble Igwe, representing Ogbaru Constituency One, the Committee also reviewed the financial reports of the Ministry of Information, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, and the Anambra State Information Communication Technology Agency.
After a thorough review of the audited reports, Honourable Igwe commended the ministries and agencies for their transparency. He urged them to continue upholding these standards, which align with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of accountable governance and proper use of public funds.
Barrister Joachin Anaeto, Principal Secretary to Governor Soludo, expressed gratitude to the Committee for their diligent legislative oversight. He assured that the Governor’s Office would continue to adhere to regulations that promote the state’s progress.
Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, provided an overview of the ministry’s activities and accounts. He thanked the House of Assembly for their commitment to ensuring checks and balances.
The Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, along with his counterparts from the Anambra State ICT Agency, Mr. Fred Agbata, and the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, were also present during the assessment, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining financial integrity and transparency.
