Anambra Assembly Confirms Auditors General, Civil Service Commission Board Members

The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of the State and Local Government Auditors General, alongside the Board Members of the State Civil Service Commission, as nominated by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Chairman of the House Committee on Screening and Election Matters, Deputy Speaker Right Honourable Chukwuma Okoye, during the plenary session. Okoye highlighted that all nominees had successfully appeared before the committee and satisfactorily answered questions during the screening process.

After the confirmation, Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, urged the newly confirmed five-member board to remain committed and to collaborate with other government agencies to ensure peace and development within the state.

In his vote of thanks, Chief Anthony Ezenwaka, the newly confirmed Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, expressed his gratitude to the lawmakers. He pledged to work in the best interests of the state’s civil service and in close cooperation with the government to promote peace and progress.

Additionally, the House confirmed Mr. Charles Okocha as the substantive Auditor General for Anambra State and Mrs. Josephine Anyaegbunam as the Auditor General for Local Government.
