Anambra CLO Leader Applauds Sokoto Road Market Chairman for Empowering Traders and Nursing Mothers

Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, the leader of the Anambra State Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) and a noted civil rights activist, has commended Hon. Emeka Mbachu, Chairman of the Sokoto Road Market Traders Association, for his generous support of petty traders and nursing mothers during the association’s end-of-year prayer session on November 8, 2024.

In a statement, Ezekwueme praised Mbachu’s commitment to humanitarian and patriotic causes, emphasizing that Mbachu’s dedication to serving others is worthy of both recognition and emulation. “He has demonstrated in words and actions that he is dedicated to selfless service, advocating for the welfare of traders and citizens alike,” said Ezekwueme.

Ezekwueme highlighted Mbachu’s longstanding support for underprivileged groups, including petty traders, hawkers, and the indigent. Mbachu notably intervened recently to prevent the lynching of a thief caught pickpocketing, using his influence to maintain peace. Furthermore, last year he provided rice for struggling traders and nursing care items for mothers, while this year, he granted four indigent traders a sum of 100,000 naira each.

Friends, colleagues, and executives within Mbachu’s circle, inspired by his generosity, contributed additional funds, allowing each beneficiary to receive a total of 100,000 naira.

Ezekwueme urged other community leaders and affluent individuals to follow Mbachu’s example, reminding them that true leadership lies in serving others. Quoting John Holmes, he remarked, “There is no exercise better for the heart and humanity than reaching down and lifting people up.”

Ezekwueme encouraged collective efforts to foster goodwill, empathy, and charity across communities, saying, “Let us work together to make our good better, and our better best.”
