Anambra Commissioner Urges Ministry Staff to Strive for Excellence, Utilize Talents

The Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, has called on staff of the ministry to aim for professional excellence and demonstrate efficiency in their roles. He made this appeal during a staff meeting in Awka, where he emphasized the importance of nurturing talents and using them to create value and opportunities.

Mr. Onyenji urged the staff to be proactive, encouraging them to contribute innovative ideas within their respective departments to enhance the ministry’s operations. “People are using their talents to create wealth and jobs. Utilize yours and be outstanding. Have a vision to reach the top by regularly upgrading your skills,” he stated.

The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Jerome Ilokwu, also addressed the staff, urging them to adhere to civil service rules, conduct themselves professionally, and improve their computer literacy to stay relevant in the modern work environment. “The world revolves around computers now. Learn new skills that will promote both yourselves and the ministry,” Ilokwu advised.

Responding on behalf of the staff, Senior Cultural Officer Offor Nwafor and Senior Tourism Officer Basil Igwemma expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for the meeting, assuring him of the ministry’s capable workforce. They affirmed that with the right support, the ministry can elevate Anambra’s cultural and tourism profile.
