Anambra Concludes Screening for “1Youth, 2Skills” Phase Two Master Trainers

The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has wrapped up the screening and revalidation process for master trainers ahead of the second phase of the “1 Youth, 2 Skills” program.

Held over four days at the ASATU Hall in Government House, Awka, the exercise saw the participation of over 600 master trainers from the state’s 21 local government areas.

Addressing the trainers, Commissioner for Youth Development Mr. Patrick Agha Mba stated that the objective was to ensure training centers meet the necessary standards. He praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo, describing him as youth-friendly, for approving the second batch of the 1Youth2Skills Solution Initiative.

Mr. Agha Mba highlighted several innovations in the second phase, including retraining and certification of master trainers by a recognized agency to ensure quality standards. This retraining will be free of charge, as the Anambra State Government will cover the costs.

Additional innovations include the Youths To Agriculture Scheme (YTAS), Anawood Scheme, use of GPS coordinates in project monitoring, an online entrepreneurship program, and the application of digital technology in data management.

The second phase will also see the empowerment of 10,000 Anambra youths in apprenticeship, entrepreneurship, business financing, and mentorship schemes—double the number from the previous phase.

The Commissioner expressed hope that beneficiaries will contribute positively to the state’s economic growth and revealed that 600 training centers and trainers will be engaged across the state for the program’s second phase.
