Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, along with the Ibezim family, friends, and well-wishers, gathered to pay their last respects to the late Sir Nnamdi Clifford Ibezim, who passed away at the age of 65.

Late Sir Nnamdi was the brother of Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim.

During the funeral service at St. Lawrence Church Parish in Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area, Rt. Reverend Chijioke Oti delivered a sermon reminding Christians of their mortality and urging them to live impactful lives. He encouraged the grieving family to hold onto their faith in God for comfort.

In interviews, various dignitaries including Dr. Emeka Odogwu, Dr. Jude Emecheta, Reverend Canon Uchenna Umeifekwem, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie, and Anthony Obieze offered their condolences and emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones.

Local leaders such as Prince Chinedu Okafor, Barrister Titus Akpudo, and Prince Nestor Ebede highlighted the Ibezim family’s blessed nature and prayed for their strength during this difficult time.

Prince Chigozie Nweke and Mr. Ferguson Okpara, representing non-indigenous associations, acknowledged the loss as significant for both Anambra natives and non-indigenes, extending their organizations’ sympathies to the family.
