Addressing a gathering of businesswomen and female farmers in Awka, Mrs. Soludo underscored the urgent need for moderation in salt consumption, citing alarming statistics provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), which reveal a staggering two million deaths annually due to salt-related illnesses.
While acknowledging the essential role of salt in food preparation, Mrs. Soludo emphasized the detrimental effects of surpassing recommended intake levels, cautioning against the serious health implications associated with excessive sodium consumption.
In her impassioned plea to the audience, the Governor’s wife urged women to prioritize healthy lifestyle choices, emphasizing that sound health is fundamental to overall well-being and vitality.
Furthermore, Mrs. Soludo advocated for the promotion of organic agriculture, emphasizing its profound benefits for both human health and environmental sustainability. She encouraged female farmers to embrace organic farming practices as a means of fostering healthier food production systems.
