The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has congratulated the state’s athletes for their impressive showing at the 8th National Youth Games, recently concluded in Asaba, Delta State.
In a statement released in Awka, Mrs. Soludo praised the team’s ambition and resilience, celebrating their success in securing 26 medals, including nine gold, nine silver, and eight bronze. Anambra placed 8th overall in the national competition.
She highlighted the athletes’ dedication and commended their efforts, which brought pride to both the state and their families. Mrs. Soludo acknowledged that while there is room for improvement, the team’s performance offers a strong foundation for future successes.
The governor’s wife reaffirmed her commitment to meeting the athletes and emphasized the wealth of talent within Anambra, expressing confidence that the state’s athletes will shine on the global stage.
She also praised the coaches and team handlers for their hard work, noting that despite the current results, the state’s talent pool remains vast and promising. Mrs. Soludo assured continued government support to nurture home-grown talent for future national and international competitions.
