In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion, Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade), in conjunction with the Anambra State Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), has conducted a crackdown on illegally parked vehicles along key routes in the state.
The joint enforcement operation, led by Comrade Celestine Anere, Managing Director of OCHA Brigade, targeted areas from the Toll Gate axis in Ogbunike to the Bridge Head axis and Ochanja market in Onitsha.
The initiative was prompted by numerous complaints from road users regarding the significant traffic disruptions caused by illegally parked vehicles, particularly during peak hours.
Comrade Anere emphasized that the ongoing enforcement campaign aims to alleviate traffic bottlenecks across the state by removing obstructions caused by unlawfully parked trucks and vehicles.
He reiterated the agency’s commitment to collaborating with ARTMA to address the issue effectively, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to the public by private and commercial bus drivers who flout parking regulations.
Comrade Anere reassured the public that OCHA Brigade will intensify efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow by stepping up enforcement measures and penalizing persistent violators.
Moving forward, offenders can expect to face charges as authorities remain steadfast in their mission to maintain order on Anambra’s roads.
