The Anambra State Government has handed over 42 motorcycles to Tuberculosis, Buruli Ulcer, and Leprosy Control Programme Local Government Supervisors (TBLS) and their assistants across the 21 local government areas of the state.
The motorcycles, donated by Global Fund, were presented to the beneficiaries by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo.
Dr. Obidike commended the supervisors and their assistants for their dedication to healthcare delivery, stating that the motorcycles would enhance their mobility and improve efforts to eradicate tuberculosis, buruli ulcer, and leprosy in communities. He warned the recipients to handle the motorcycles with care, as they would be held accountable for any damage or loss.
The State Manager of the programme, Dr. Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu, praised the supervisors for their hard work, urging them to intensify efforts with the new support.
The Director of Public Health, Dr. Afam Aneme, emphasized that the motorcycles should be used solely for official duties to improve health service delivery at the grassroots.
