The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling crime, announcing that native doctors currently in custody will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, disclosed this in Awka while speaking to the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) about Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration’s efforts to restore order in the state.
Dr. Mefor emphasized that the government remains resolute in its fight against criminal activities, stating that if found guilty, the suspects will be sentenced under the provisions of the Anambra Homeland Security Law.
He also dismissed claims that the government is targeting traditional worship, clarifying that the crackdown is aimed at those aiding criminal elements, including native doctors who allegedly prepare charms for criminals.
The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen security in Anambra State and ensure that individuals who facilitate crime are brought to justice.
