Civil Liberties Organization, Anambra State Branch has made patriotic and passionate appeal to His Excellency, Professor Charles Soludo to immortalize late former governor Dr.Pius Ezeife by renaming Government House Awka in his memory.
It will be recall that Dr.Ezeife laid the foundation for the New Anambra State as first executive governor.
Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme made the remarks on the sideline of burial ceremony of the late sage, Chief Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife in Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.
“Dr Ezeife contributed immensely towards socioeconomic and political development of southeast and Nigeria. He is an epitome of patriotic servant-leader, God fearing, prudent, steadfast, selfless and humanist.
” In life and in death he remains indisputable most courageous, articulate, compassionate servant leader who always stand for what is right, fair, just and laudable regardless the consequences.
“Okwadike played indispensable roles towards unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, election of Nigeria President of Igbo extraction, an end to sit at home and insecurity and establishment of Southeast Development Commission as well as socioeconomic and political justice for all the zones in the country.
” Similarly the Federal Government should immortalize him by naming any national monument in his memory and for President Tinubu to accent to a bill for an act establishing Southeast Development Commission recently passed into law by the National Assembly, in appreciation of his unprecedented selfless sacrifices and services to our country as civil servant, permanent secretary, governor and presidential adviser.
“It is of prime importance for political class and civil servants to emulate him so as to actualized Nigeria of our dreams,hopes and aspirations in tandem with philosophy of our founding fathers.
” We equally commend presidential candidate of Labour Party Mr.Peter Obi for his love,respect,care and concern towards the late sage.
“May our merciful God accept his humble and gentle soul in paradise and gives his family, Igbukwu community, Aguata LGA, Ohaneze and Anambra state the grace and fortitude to bear and endure the irreparable loss.
