The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, recently conducted unscheduled visits to Awkuzu and Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospitals to assess healthcare service delivery and uphold high standards in patient care, cleanliness, and facility operations across the state.
During his tour, Dr. Obidike inspected departments including the outpatient, emergency units, and wards, observing the conditions of the facilities, availability of medical supplies, and the general welfare of patients and staff.
“These unannounced visits are part of our commitment to ensure quality care in all state healthcare facilities,” he remarked. “Maintaining high standards is essential to building public trust and improving health outcomes.” Dr. Obidike praised the dedication and professionalism of the staff at Awkuzu General Hospital, urging Enugwu-Ukwu personnel to adopt similar practices.
The Commissioner also engaged with hospital staff to provide support and discuss areas needing improvement, reaffirming the state’s commitment to addressing any identified challenges. He emphasized that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is focused on enhancing healthcare quality through accountability and transparency.
Residents were encouraged to report any issues experienced in healthcare facilities, with the assurance that the government would respond promptly to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
