The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, has chaired a strategic meeting with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other health partners to enhance healthcare delivery across the state.
Held at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, the meeting focused on evaluating the state’s health sector performance, identifying areas for improvement, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
Dr. Obidike emphasized Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration’s dedication to providing accessible, functional, and quality healthcare for residents. He commended the WHO, particularly its State Coordinator, Dr. Bonos Mohammed, for ongoing technical and financial support.
“We’ve reviewed our progress and mapped out our goals for the year. The public is advised to utilize emergency numbers 5111 and 112 for swift responses to health emergencies,” Dr. Obidike stated.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo, along with WHO representatives, Dr. Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu and Mrs. Uju Onwuegbuzinam. The meeting highlighted collaborative efforts to tackle the state’s health challenges and ensure better service delivery.
