Anambra Health Commissioner Hosts WHO Delegation to Enhance Healthcare Services

In a strategic move to bolster healthcare services in Anambra State, Dr. Afam Obidike, the Commissioner for Health, welcomed a high-level delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) South East Zone to his office in Awka.

The esteemed visitors included Dr. Chukwumanya Igboekwu, the WHO South East Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Bonos Mohammed, WHO Anambra State Coordinator, and Mr. Ndubuisi Orji. The meeting served as a platform for intensive discussions on innovative approaches to address healthcare challenges facing the state.

During the deliberations, Dr. Obidike expressed profound gratitude on behalf of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for the unwavering support received from WHO, both in terms of technical expertise and financial assistance.

Key decisions were reached during the session, aimed at advancing Anambra State’s healthcare agenda. These decisions are poised to enhance service delivery, improve affordability, and promote accessibility to healthcare services across the state.

Dr. Obidike commended Governor Soludo for his steadfast commitment to transforming the healthcare landscape in the state. He highlighted the significant financial backing received by the Ministry of Health, which has facilitated remarkable progress in healthcare reform initiatives under the Soludo administration.
