In a recent courtesy visit to Anambra State’s First Lady, Dr. Nonye Soludo, at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Information Commissioner Dr. Law Mefor expressed the ministry’s commitment to promoting the First Lady’s Healthy Living pet project.
During the visit, Dr. Mefor informed Dr. Soludo about the reforms he is implementing to enhance the ministry’s information dissemination and management, aimed at achieving strategic communication for the Anambra State government. He emphasized, “Our main aim is the attainment of strategic communication, which will lead to better perception management for Governor Soludo and his government.”
To bolster these efforts, the ministry has recently launched *The Solution Weekly Bulletin*, which aims to report on the achievements of the Soludo administration, particularly targeting Anambra citizens outside the state. Additionally, a multi-radio station program titled “Ask the Commissioner” will feature weekly discussions with various commissioners, highlighting their ministries’ achievements and activities.
Moreover, Dr. Mefor announced a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Local Government Affairs and Chieftaincy Matters, planning town hall meetings across all 21 local governments in Anambra. These meetings will allow stakeholders, including Ndi Igwe, presidents-general, market leaders, and youth representatives, to engage with the government regarding its efforts to create a prosperous and livable Anambra.
Regarding the First Lady’s *Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo* initiative, Dr. Mefor praised the project as both timely and noble, stating, “Sound mind in a sound body is not possible unless one pays attention to lifestyle, which is a duty.” He expressed his intention to participate in the Saturday workouts and to leverage the Ministry of Information’s platforms to promote the benefits of healthy living, exercise, and sports among the citizens.
In response, Dr. Nonye Soludo thanked the Information Commissioner for his visit and pledged collaboration. She commended the ministry’s progress under Dr. Mefor’s leadership and his commitment to improving information management in the state. To support the Healthy Living project, the First Lady presented Dr. Mefor with literature related to the initiative.
