Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has lauded Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo for his statesmanship and forward-thinking approach to governance, emphasizing the governor’s concern for both the current welfare of Ndi Anambra and the long-term future of the state.
Dr. Mefor made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Angels News Network (ANN) Chapel, at his office in Awka. He noted that unlike typical politicians who make empty promises, Governor Soludo is focused on shaping the future of Anambra over the next 10 to 50 years. Mefor explained that the governor is committed to ensuring the prosperity and inclusivity of the state, ensuring that future generations benefit from the state’s progress.
“The governor is concerned not only about the present conditions of the people but also about what will happen after us. His vision extends to the future of Ndi Anambra, especially our children,” Mefor said. He highlighted Governor Soludo’s initiatives such as free and compulsory education from primary to senior secondary school, which aims to uplift the next generation. He also pointed out other empowerment schemes like “One Youth, Two Skills” and digital skill training through the Solution Innovation District, which support both Anambra residents and those living outside the state.
Mefor further emphasized that Soludo’s policies are designed to benefit all who reside in Anambra, including the significant percentage of Ndi Anambra who live outside the state. “Anambra State is home for all, and we must be accommodating. Soludo’s inclusive policies touch every part of Anambra, ensuring development across the state.”
The Commissioner commended journalists for their fair coverage of the state’s progress and assured them of his continued support, pledging to maintain an open-door policy for accurate and timely information.
In their addresses, the Chairman of Angels News Network Chapel of NUJ, Comrade Bonvera Onyebuchi Ndubuisi, and Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna expressed their solidarity with the Information Ministry and assured their commitment to promoting the activities of the ministry and the Soludo administration.
The visit concluded with the presentation of gifts and a chapel cap to Dr. Mefor in recognition of his role as an ambassador for the ANN Chapel.
