Anambra State Local Government Service Commission has honoured outstanding Local Government Council Chairmen among others for their sterling performances in different areas of LG administration.
Hon. Dr Anselm Chukwudi Onuorah, the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area was honoured with an award as the “Best Transition Chairman on Project Implementation” in Anambra State for 2023 at the Local Government Service Commission week flag off event held yesterday at Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka.
The plaque was presented to him by Hon. Barr Anthonia Tabansi Okoye, LGSC Member incharge of Anambra North Senatorial Zone.
Barr Anthonia congratulated and commended them for their diligent service and sterling performances in various areas of Local Government administration.
In his brief remarks after the award presentation, Dr Onuorah said, ” I am overwhelmed with joy and humility, knowing that my efforts and achievements during my tenure as TC Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area have been recognized.
” This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team, and I dedicate it to all the local government staff who tirelessly supported me in my duties. I am grateful to His Excellency, Mr Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo for the opportunity to serve, and I pledge to continue fighting for the people of Anambra East in any capacity.”
Continuing, Hon. Anselm pointed out that the theme of the 2024 LGS week, “Value Rebirth through Digital Transformation” resonates deeply with him.
He noted that the speech by Mr Osita Chidoka, former Aviation Minister on values that civil servants must practice to help contribute to progress and development in the society were the fuel that drive his efforts, and that he is committed to supporting all forms of development that benefits the people.
Hon. ThankGod Anagor, TC Chairman, Awka North LGA, others were among the people honoured at the event.
