The Anambra State Ministry of Power and Water Resources has been honored as the best ministry in Transparency and Accountability for 2023 by the Anambra State Accounting Staff Association (ASASA).
The award was presented to Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, by Mr. Achor, Chairman of ASASA and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. He congratulated the Commissioner and his team for their financial prudence and transparency.
Mr. Achor emphasized that ASASA’s mission is to promote financial prudence and accountability across all ministries, departments, and agencies in Anambra State.
Engineer Chukwuemeka expressed gratitude to ASASA for their independent monitoring efforts and dedicated the award to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, praising him as Nigeria’s most prudent governor. He also acknowledged his management team and staff for their contributions to the ministry’s success.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Sir Victor Ezekwo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Water Resources; Engineer Ikeobi Ejiofor, Managing Director of Anambra State Urban Water Asset Holdings Corporation; Dr. Ifeoma Molokwu, Head of the Accounting Department of the Ministry; and Engineer Chiketa Chukwudi, Anambra State Fire Chief, among others.
